Ten Things That Make Me Smile

-Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
-Online learning
-Being in the home stretch of finishing one of the books I'm reading
-Pea Pods
-Forrest Gump
-Microwaving something without a lid and not having it boil over
-Pop Rocks
-Remembering what it was like to grade papers and remembering that I don't have to do that anymore.
-Vanilla yogurt
-Wondering what the plural of abacus is. I'm looking at two of them at the moment that my husband has on his desk. Abaci? Abacuses?

Your wondering made me want to wonder ( as a kid I often asked a question and after my parents gave me the answer, or the 'I don't know' depending on the question - they would ask 'Why do you ask' - and I would say "I just wanted to wonder"). So I checked it out - maybe you did too, or already knew, but here is what I found.

Etymology
The use of the word abacus dates before 1387 AD, when a Middle English work borrowed the word from Latin to describe a sandboard abacus. The Latin word came from abakos, Hebrew ābāq, "dust".[3] The preferred plural of abacus is a subject of disagreement, but both abacuses,[4] and abaci[5] are in use.
